Something closer to home (Melbourne)

Now we are taking a more ‘local’ view of travel and touring (you know why….), one idea that quickly comes to mind is ‘let’s do a Wine Tour’.

You already know of Victoria’s Wine Regions - you drink from them!

So, what about heading out to enjoy and explore them afresh. After all Victoria is blessed with an array of options of where to go - really, any direction you choose.

To begin, there are some regions - perhaps the Yarra Valley or Mornington Peninsula that are pretty obvious. Then there might be the ‘not so obvious’ - the King Valley, the Henty or Heathcote. And that is just to name some.

It’s not only a question of where to go, but also why to go, or what else to do. In fact some of those things that might become your whole motivation.

Yarra Valley

A deep wine history, a short distance from Melbourne, a welter of tastings and things to do.

Heathcote

A reputation for noted classy reds the region is also making a reputation for emerging Italian varietals.

Mornington Peninsula

Coastal and compact, it’s also close to Melbourne and also hosts plenty of other things to do.

Henty

If there is a contest for the ‘historic’ title it can be expected the ‘Henty’ will be there to claim it.

Geelong

Once the largest producing wine region in Australia, it’s diverse of place and of wine.

King Valley

The district’s deep Italian heritage underlies the region’s standing as a producer of Italian varietals.

Macedon

Striking landforms are not the only feature of this highly regarded wine region.
